2015 South Carolina Hurricane Week

 
Governor Nikki Haley has proclaimed May 31-June 6 to be 2015 South Carolina Hurricane Awareness Week.  The S.C. Emergency Management Division, agencies of the State Emergency Response Team and county emergency managers will be engaged in many activities throughout the week to highlight disaster preparedness in South Carolina. 
 
Know Your Zone
#KnowYourZone
SCEMD encourages everyone living near or visiting the coast to “Know Your Zone” in case a hurricane prompts an evacuation.  Visit the “Know Your Zone” section at scemd.org to use an interactive map showing new, color-coded coastal evacuation zones, routes and links to county emergency management pages with detailed hurricane evacuation information.
 
Friday, May 29 - Governor’s Coastal Tour
Governor Haley and SCEMD Director Kim Stenson will join local public safety officials for hurricane preparedness meetings in Horry, Charleston and Beaufort Counties.
 
 
The Official 2015 South Carolina Hurricane Guide will be released via 10 coastal newspapers, available in 20 SCDMV offices in coastal counties and at any Walgreens store statewide. The Guide will be available for download at here.
