The South Carolina Emergency Management Division, a division of the Adjutant General's Office, is the coordinating agency responsible for the statewide emergency management program.  SCEMD’s mission is to develop, coordinate, and lead the state emergency management program, enabling effective preparation for, response to and recovery from emergencies and disasters in order to save lives, reduce human suffering and minimize property loss.  South Carolina is threatened by many natural and technological hazards.  Disasters and emergency situations can happen anytime and anywhere. When disaster strikes, you may not have much time to respond, so it is important that you and your family are prepared.

Situation Reports

State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) State Situation Reports:
When the SEOC is activated the following links will provide copies of situation reports for the most current emergency/disaster event. The current state situation report will be posted to this page as soon as practical; however disaster response actions/activities will always be the first priority.

The State Situation Report is a document generally prepared twice daily at the SEOC during major state level response activities and each report includes information gathered from state agencies, volunteer organizations and local government. The State Situation Report portrays the best information available given the severity of the event and the confusion expected in a disaster situation. The following situation reports are as complete as possible, but will contain information gaps inadvertently created by computer problems and administrative errors.
