NIMS Statewide Credentialing

Credentialing is the administrative process for validating the qualifications of personnel and assuring their background, for authorization and permitting/granting access to an incident involving mutual aid between states (interstate). It also lends itself to a variety of uses within the state in accordance with the practices of individual agencies.

A user group, representing multiple responder disciplines, is established to assist the SC Emergency Management Divison to promote credentialing and protect the integrity of the statewide credentialing system.

Documentation of standards and practices for credentialing in South Carolina is approved by the Statewide Credentialing User Group.
