2023 Day of Recovery Hosted by SCEMD

Over 120 folks from government agencies, volunteer organizations and private businesses participated in Wednesday's 2023 Day of Recovery.

The workshop provided an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss disaster recovery and mitigation strategies in South Carolina.

During the workshop, agencies discussed preparing for future issues and strengthening relationships between agencies to increase collaborative efforts.

"Recovery is a collective event. There's no single event or agency that's going to do it all." SCEMD Director Kim Stenson explained.

State and local emergency managers have improved their preparedness for future issues and are continually enhancing their services, according to Director Stenson.

SCEMD strives to provide people with the tools they need to prepare for disasters in the state.
