Joint Information Center Activated for COVID-19

COLUMBIA, S.C. — The State Emergency Response Team has activated the Joint Information Center for all media covering the novel coronavirus COVID-19 in South Carolina. All media should contact this central location for all South Carolina related inquires related to COVID-19.

Located at state Emergency Operations Center at 2779 Fish Hatchery Road in West Columbia, the Center will coordinate the release of all public information from all state agencies regarding COVID-19. Public Information staff from relevant state agencies are supporting the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Additionally, officials will use this center to conduct media briefings as needed.

News media should email covid19news@emd.sc.gov or call 803-737-8515 with any questions related to COVID-19 in South Carolina.

Additionally, SCEMD’s website, scemd.org, and @SCEMD social media channels will serve as the central coordination point for all information specific to South Carolina.
